Twitter Followers and New Pictures.

Two different topics that go together. I have been working very hard on increasing my on-line image. I have updated websites, and worked hard to grow my twitter and Facebook following. I really don't jive with twitter like I do with Facebook, but it is great for networking and finding folks you might not ever find any other way. I went up from 14 followers yesterday to 50 today. I did this by clicking on some local media twitter people that I follow and clicking on people that follow them...then they reciprocate. Pretty cool. So, maybe I'll make new friends.

To go along with all of this, my broker brought in a photographer to get me a better picture. At first she was just going to shoot me, but the idea took off, we set up one of our conference rooms, and almost all the agents got new pictures shot. We did this instead of our sales meeting this morning. I went and had my hair cut and styled. I put on 3 layers of makeup. I even put on lipstick, (which I hate.)

After taking many shots of me, she was happy. She showed me the "raw" pictures in the camera. It was so My Familyfreaky! Those weren't MY pictures, they were my mom's!!!! No, they were mine, I'm just a carbon copy of my mom. This always throws me off.

That's Me, My Momma, and my little bother, I mean brother, with my son and my brother's youngest daughter. This was taken in September 2009 at my son's 3rd birthday party.

When I was younger, EVERYONE would go on and on about how I look SO much like my mom. For a while we worked at the same University, and I would be walking down the hall, and we MOVE the same. People would think I was her from far away and call out to her. I got pretty used to answering to her name.

Now that I am older, I KNEW her when she was my age. I was in high school. I remember her well at this age, and it is really a freaky trip to see how much I really do look like her. So, I posted about this on Facebook. The first thing that came back is, "well, is that a good thing?" Heck ya. She is pretty. And, the alternative, of looking like my Dad!!! Well, I pick my momma. So, I guess I should thank the genetic Gods that gave me Mom's looks and not Dad's!

When I get the pictures back, you'll see them. Meantime, be my facebook, twitter, and Active Rain buddy and subscribe, etc. Grow the circle, so to speak.

I agree with you. I find twitter a lot more difficult to warm up to. I love my facebook and keeping up with both friends and past clients. I don't think I really "get" twitter.

You should try Foursquare. I just joined it and love the fun of it. It is a geotracker social media forum. You can rate businesses in your area and have them rate you. You gain points and can become a mayor of a place. Total fun!

Amy - I still can't get the hang of twitter or facebook, but I keep trying.  Can't wait to see the new picture.  Will also have to see what this foursquare is all about.
