NASHUA SENIOR CITIZENS COULD USE A HELPING HAND TO CLEAN UP AFTER THE WINTER STORMS

Nashua volunteers are ready to go the extra yard to help senior citizen clean up and get ready for spring.  

Volunteers will rake, pick up and bag small branches and debris and clear our your flower beds.

The project will last for a month and will begin with a warm welcome by Nashua Mayor Donnalee Louzeau at a spring celebration on April 17th beginning at 8 a.m. at 17 Vine Street.  Volunteers can pick up lawn bags, rakes and other supplies if they do not have their own tools.

Seniors Count - Nashua will match volunteers with Nashua seniors. 

    For those who can't make it on April 17th the work can be completed later.  All work must be concluded by May 15th.

Marchel-- we have a lot of clean up to do this year (as we did last year after the terrible ice storm).  The seniors really can use the help and the volunteers are happy to lend a hand.

Linda -- This has been done in the past... I don't remember how many years... I think it keeps growing each year and this we the Mayor is going to kick off this project so I think even more people will be volunteering.

Joan, this is an excellent project to take on.  After you guys get done with the yards up there, how about coming down here and doing mine :)

Joan that is such wonderful news, seniors need a helping hand from  the community and it is great to see Nashua residents are addressing this need.  Another reason why your state is one of the best place to live.

I had to check back for your answer to my question, thanks. We had a senior "fix-up" week, yet I'm not sure they're still even doing that here. I think your program is so worthwhile, I'm giving it a lot of though for here.

Amen; for most of our life we depended on our older generation to help us grow; there is never enough time to give back for what they have done. My dog Lars loves to visit his friends on the weekend.

George    I think I will be so pooped after finishing our yard and one of the seniors that I won't be able to move for at least another month LOL!  Oh and you don't seem to qualify as a "senior" so I guess I'm off the hook.

Jennifer ~ This is a great volunteer program and I am so happy that it is available to our seniors.  There is a lot of cleaning up to do this year.

Judi ~  It is so uplifting when the community comes together in this way.  It is really something that is a benefit of living in a smaller community... everyone feels more connected.

Janice ~  After surviving the winter and all the raking in the fall and the clean up in the spring.. it is not wonder we are all in shape LOL!

I love the idea of TLC ..whether that is for a neighbor or a neighborhood...or a community...or a town...or a State...or the Earth, you know.

When I read your post, and looked at the graphic, I smiled thinking that this is a cross-generational way to keep the idea of TLC thriving.  YAY NASHUA. Thanks for letting us know about this.

janeAnne -- It is amazing how just a little TLC can go such a long way.  I love to see a multi-general project like this.  I think it helps bring perspective and balance into one's life.

Bill ~  There are so many different people/groups that can use a helping hand.  It is nice to see that we are not forgetting our senior citizens.

Hannah -- Now I know you are very Helpful... now we have a whole community being Helpful Nashuans.
