Chicken Little

After listening to the ever optimistic news media thats all I could think of at the time.  You remember 'the sky is falling, the sky is falling.  Unsold houses rose for the fifteenth thous-ant month and foreclosures reached an all time high.  Give me a break.  They forget the price run houses had for the last fifteen years.  Like the stock market eventually it has to catch it's breath.  I am sure most of the foreclosures were from people who should have never been given loans in the first place.  On the other hand this, in my opinion is the time to buy.  Like stocks the time to buy is when no one wants them.

John, I agree it is time to buy. When this market shifts your in at the wrong time. The media here in New Orleans just said the same thing. Real Estate is bad. What do they know. If I would listen to advice like that I would be working a 9-5 and could not afford anything.

Fear Uncertainty Doubt  FUD  This is the Batle Cry of News Producers everywhere. It isn't ever about facts, balance or uncovering the truth, it is about marketing! If you have noticed the housing woes stories slowed down to a trickle on Fox and CNN once the DOW broke 14,000.

it isn't news if you say that the market is adjusting after a 15 year fever pitched run and will need to make some correction.

It isn't news to say tjhat home ownership is higher than ever, the highest in the world as a % of the population and therefore there will be more defaults.

No FUD no front page / breaking news sky is falling stories

No matter where you live - it's the same song and dance! We are all in the same market; but a few may be a little better but the same!
