Whatcha Lookin At? Take Advantage of Active Rain University.

Actively being on Active Rain lately and reading many BLOGS I noticed who has costumed BLOGs and who doesn't. I really liked all the custom BLOGS and so... wanted to have one myself. I will be the first to admit that I am technology challenged. I came across a recent BLOG by Jeremy Blanton entitled ActiveRain University Presents Customizing Your ActiveRain Blog. After I saw the post I immediately signed up for the the Active Rain University class given by him.

In one hour Jeremy showed me how to make a custom header and customize my Active Rain Blog. The class was amazing. I know as Realtors we are so busy but one hour made a world of difference to how my blog looked. I went from having a mushed up picture header to a clear crisp picture that fit perfectly on my Active Rain BLOG. I could also add text.

I went from this.... coffey grounds

To this in one class.  coffey grounds

Jeremy showed me lots of ways to go in the back end and create custom color palettes from free web-sites and more. When I had a question I could type it in and Brad Andersohn was there by his side to help and answer all my questions.

Another great Active Rain University class was given by Steven Graham. He taught me in one hour great ways to get my BLOG up the search engine. After the class he sent me an email with lots of free to use helpful web-sites for blogging.

Have you ever noticed all the widgets on the side of everyone's BLOG? Most of them you can just click and grab your own if you like it. I just grabbed a FaceBook badge from Bob Stewart. I was reading his BLOG because he is giving a class tomorrow at Active Rain University entitled ActiveRain University: Hyper Local Blogging and How to Target the Buyer Most Likely to Buy Now, I can't wait. I loved the FaceBook badge so I just clicked it and got my own.

How your BLOG looks makes for more appealing reading. Take advantage of the Active Rain University classes to make your BLOG your own. Learn how to add pictures and get pictures for FREE. I learned you have 30 seconds to capture someone's attention without pictures. That's not alot of time to capture attention. Jeremy and Steven taught me all the ins and outs of adding pictures.

Trust me if I can learn it, you can too! Schedule an hour a week or even a month if you're busy. If you have a boring BLOG like I did, you soon could have a fabulous one! Thank you Active Rain University.

I'd like to know when ActiveRain is going to start recording the sessions and making the archives available.  A lot of valuable information is only being made available to those who are able to attend that day.

There's a great web-site called picnik.com that can help with a header. You need to crop a photo 960 x 134. You can add text in the create section

What a helpful post.  I learn something (well, I learn some THINGS) every day on AR.

Question about AR webinars...must you have a microphone?!  I just signed up for the hyper local one for TODAY but cancelled after reading what they suggest you have (microphone & headset).  I have just speakers...that's it.  Technically behind the times here!

Thanks,

Jan

I don't have a micro phone either. That is if you want to ask questions. I was able to type my questions and receive answers. Speakers worked just fine for all the webinars I attended.

Hi Laura - I've listened in on the SEO and Hyperlocal webinars. Great content, whether you're just writing your first post or you've written a thousand, and definitely recommended for all Rainers.

I love your changes, I think they look great. I think my question is, should I become a rainmaker? Does one automatically become a rainmaker when they reach a certain amount of points, or do you have to join? I still can't decide if its worth it. Have you gotten actual leads from this? Thanks.

I like your new header it looks great! I took a class last week and picked up some good pointers. I definately plan on trying to work some more webinars into my schedule, thanks for the suggestions. For those that can't make the classes, I have found the staffers have great posts to point you in the right direction.

This one did not work, gives an error:

Are there any notes, slideshow, or video of the webinar?
