So... You Write....They Will Come

Today I was having an email conversation with a Buyer who is interested in one of my listings. He contacted me a few weeks ago, said he found the house on the internet, had been following it for a bit and then decided to call me to see. No agent, no agency, no wanting one.

Ah YesTodays conversation was about his wanting to put an offer in on the property and he was doing his own research. He mentioned other homes he had researched, a home down the street from mine etc. And then he mentioned a home I had that was overpriced, a bidding war went on, an appraisal was done, an.... well he just went on and on.

Well I was baffled as to what he was talking about and mentioned that to him. What home was he talking about that I had listed and that the bidding war went on and that he found out about it on the internet?? This was a mystery to me.

So I asked him and lo and behold it was my blog I wrote about

'I love when a plan comes together'

He had been following my blog and I didn't even know it.

This story was not actually my listing but it was a story I had written about a buyer I was working with. And it was a story this buyer I was having the email conversation with found fascinating. It was a story that garnered very few comments here on the Rain yet.... it was a story that this buyer I was having an email conversation with found fascinating.

Moral of this story..... Just get out there and write

So...You Write....They Will Come

 You just never know.

Martha,

It is fun when a plan comes together.  You actually have someone who purchases a home from you.

Martha - Congrats on having a post(s) make a difference. This exactly why I am here. Sure I enjoy the friends I've made (like you) but the nuts and bolts require constant keystokes with relevance.

Martha:  It's weird when people who've been following our blog talk about the topics we write about and we're caught off guard.

Wow. Neat story. I inspired an agent in the office to get on Active Rain recently and a client from several decades back then found her and sent her a nice long note. Hey, I sent you an invitation to Dropbox tonight.

Martha, how do you put the clipart on the left? I know how to center it in the middle and that is all. Some agents put photos on both sides..or clipart. How?

Blogging is one of the most valuable things we can do to promote our business. It still takes me forever to write a post.  Although I enjoy writing, I need to become more comfortable with blogging.  You are a great example and inspiration!

I recently had this same thing happen to me.  I woman contacted me by phone.  It was our first conversation and she mentioned that her husband had retired after 30 years on the police force.  I mentioned that my husband had also been in municipal government.  She said I know that's why I decided to call you because we have so much in common.  I then realized that she had found me through AR.  She is moving here from NC and had been in contact with another realtor in the area but felt no connection.  Found me through AR and thought of me as a kindred spirit.  If I hadn't written about myself here, she never would have found me.  That's exciting.

Jane- Yesterday a couple walked in to my open house and asked me to list their home this week.  As we started talking they said they had been reading my blogs on the neighborhood, were ready to sell and there was no need to interview anyone else.  They already new how I would market their home.  Go blogging Go!
