Lakeway Regional Medical Center - Lakeway TX - is about to start construction again. Back in the Fall of 2008, it was announced that a new hospital was being built in Lakeway TX that would be just over 50 acres and cost roughly $250M to be completely in 2011...

But around September of 2009, all of a sudden, there was no activity going on around the site. I heard many stories. One was that the site was going to increase and they needed Austin Energy to approve moving the electrical stuff.  Another was that they were trying to get a guaranteed loan from HUD to help get lower rates.

Either way, it has been announced that the Lakeway Regional Medical Center is getting back on track with a current estimated completion date in 2012.

I think this is going to bring an influx of relocation to the area, so if there are any doctors, nurses, hospital technicians, or anyone else thinking of moving to the area, please contact me for a smooth move.

Donna:  This is just really great news for the Austin area.  Medical facilities... especially top ones like this sounds like it's going to be, are such a great asset.  And... those who will staff this new facility really SHOULD have you help them with their relocation needs.  You have done so much for so many relocating families.

Lakeway should be getting some money from that crazy trillion dollar spending spree that was created under TARP. I know of several government buildings underway downtown including a district court house thanks to TARP. So good to hear that this development is back underway! Should create a lot of jobs and bring more people out to Lakeway!

Christopher:  Yeah... that TARP stuff is nasty.  And, with you thinking that... I am so SURE that the first time... or perhaps even EVERY time you close a buyer who is coming into town to work at this Tarp-financed Medical Center... that you will want to give ALL of your commission back to the Tarp fund... just to be fair.  Right ?

Medical community continues to grow in greater Austin.  Good news as Austin has been underserved in that area for a long time.  Should stimulate some growth and home sales in that area.
