The Walker Pond neighborhood in Sturbridge, MA, consists of a handful of streets to the east of Sturbridge's Walker Pond. Most of the homes were built in the 1970's and 1980's.
Homes in the Walker Pond Neighborhood
The attraction to Walker Pond lies in its recreational facilities. While very few houses have direct water frontage, home owners at Walker Pond have access to a sizeable private neighborhood beach, playground, tennis courts and horse stable. Annual neighborhood picnics are a highlight of the summer.
The actual body of water, Walker Pond, is located on the east side of Sturbridge, just west of Route 49. Other than the Walker Pond neighborhood discussed here, the pond is surrounded by wildlife management property and Wells State Park. Thus, access to the pond is either via the Walker Pond neighborhood association, or a visit to Wells State Park. The pond is quite popular for fishing.
