I just got home from the Get Motivated seminar
held today in Beaumont, Texas and I am pumped up!
This morning I got to hear some of the best lineup of speakers and this seminar was FREE! Thats right FREE! Where can you go to a seminar from 8-5 and hear Dr. Robert Schuller, Sarah Palin, Terry Bradshaw, Rudy Giuliani, and Zig Ziglar for FREE?
If this seminar comes to your city do your self a favor and attend, you will be glad you did!
Tamara Lowe is co-founder of Get Motivated Seminars, Inc. Her book Get Motivated empowers individuals to achieve their goals. She has developed a new science of achievement called Motivational DNA. Everyone has a different drive, need and award. How we respond to these determines how were are perceived. So knowing what type of DNA your buyer or seller has enables you to know how to present to them either by facts and logic or enthusiasm keeping your presentation light and entertaining.

- Listen to people, ask questions
- Debate, get opinions
- Write, list pros and cons when making decisions
- Spend time thinking
Who hasn't heard of Zig Ziglar?? He is 83 years old and still motivating people! His advice "You have to 'be' before you can 'do' and do before you can 'have'." He illustrates with a water pump story. You have to prime a pump and put something in the pump to get water out. You must do alot of pumping with the right attitude in life so you get more water to drink!
Terry Bradshaw is hilarious, what a nut! He said "why not love your job" "keep a smile on your face because you never know whose life you will change" "Everyone has trials you must persevere"
There was also a speaker, James Smith, who gave a great talk on real estate, jobs, money mistakes and financial self defense. He speaks directly to mortgage brokers, real estate agents and investors and is very inspirational with a direct message geared to our specific industry.
Taking this all in, I realized that sometimes it is hard for me to stay positive. As a Realtor, I love my job and helping people obtain the American dream of home ownership. However, you may agree with me that we get discouraged and beat down at times when:
- our buyer jumps ship on us,
- we take criticism from our sellers,
- the loan officer calls with bad news,
- the buyer is not pre-approved,
- the inspector finds termites at the house,
- the title company calls to say we are not closing today.
- you have no pipeline!
I will choose to stay positive and I think Zig would approve of my new motto, I'm just not going to see you at the top, I'm going over the top!
