Upper Village of East Derry Historic Property

8 Lane Road DerryNH

The other day one of the Realtors in my firm hosted a Brokers Open House at an antique 1810 home. It was located in the Historical Upper Village district of East Derry, New Hampshire.  Reading about the extensive renovations the current homeowner has performed I was somewhat intriged to see the finished project. Plus it was a nice Spring day and Pasta was on the menu.

Now I'm not really into antique homes, however in New Hampshire they become part of the norm. That and horse properties.   Each have there own character and charm and they all have some story to tell.  Like I said, I'm really not into "old", there I said it, homes, but this property blew me away. The renovations were done with close attention being paid to the original plan. Every ceiling and wall was either resurfaced or replaced. The beamed ceilings were exposed after years of being covered. True workmanship. I lost count of the fireplaces throughout this historic masterpiece.  You could feel the history.  Entering the kitchen I was impressed by the size and how comfortable I felt.  Old charm blended with todays modern conveniences.   Walking out back to the 2+car garage/carriage house I was impressed with the open backyard. 2.5 acres..Hummmm!  Possible horse property.  I could actually see myself living here. Maybe have chickens and sell eggs. Have alpaca's.  My wifes dreams come true.

Pulling back out of my imagination, I rejoined the other guests, which at this point was becoming a good turn out.  Sitting down at the antique kitchen table with all the other agents, having a good meal and catching up. What better way to take a little time off from our busy schedules and show your support for you fellow Realtor. Never know, you may know the ideal client or new owner for this home. As the summer approaches I hope to see more Broker Open Houses and impressive homes for sale like this featured property in Derry's Historic Upper Village.

Ross, I love historic homes and antiques.  This is a lovely home and to think that it's been there since 1810.. that is awesome!  I'm sure that it has had a lot of living take place in it, if only walls could talk..
