WOW! That is news to me but I do know there are lots of old laws on the books that are not enforced any more. Thanks for a tidbit.
There are more dumb laws of Florida than you can imagine. Here's one...
Law Summary
The state constitution allows for freedom of speech, a trial by jury, and pregnant pigs to not be confined in cages.

Ballot Title: Animal Cruelty Amendment: Limiting Cruel and Inhumane Confinement of Pigs During Pregnancy
Ballot Summary:
Inhumane treatment of animals is a concern of Florida citizens; to prevent cruelty to animals as recommended by The Humane Society of the United States, no person shall confine a pig during pregnancy in a cage, crate, or other enclosure, or tether a pregnant pig, on a farm so that the pig is prevented from turning around freely, except for veterinary purposes and during the prebirthing period; provides definitions, penalties, and an effective date.
