Living in Richfield Minnesota is like having best of both worlds:  city like feel with close proximity to downtowns (Minneapolis and St. Paul) with their theaters, entertainment, attractions, and major shopping, but also living within a walking distance to a park, trail, or a lake or a pond.  One thing about us, Minnesotans, is that we really enjoy outdoor recreation.  So, it's great to be able to spend quality time outside without having to walk or drive too far.

Richfield Minnesota has 22 parks.  They vary in size and amenities.  Let's take a quick tour.

The smallest one is Little Bob’s Park located at 6700 Harriet Avenue, it covers 0.3 acres and offers play equipment.  Christian Park located at 6900 Bloomington Avenue  is one of the medium sized ones.  Covering 11 acres of land, this park offers 0.7 miles of walking path, a shelter, 4 tennis courts, a soccer field, a softball field, play equipment, basketball court and 2 ice rinks in winter.

The largest Richfield MN park is Wood Lake Nature Center located at 6710 Lake Shore Drive.  Covering 150 acres of land, Wood Lake offers 3 miles of peaceful walking paths right in the middle of the city and a shelter.  The Nature Center performs a very important role in educating people about local wild life, especially educating students of Richfield schools  Students enjoy 2-3 field trips a year to Wood Lake, learn about changes in nature throughout the year, and how animals survive, and what are things to do or not to do while visiting the park.
