WHY THE ECO-ALL-STRAS?

I founded this group on the notion that as real estate professionals we can educate and deliver excellence to each other and our clients. We are all about value-added, ECO-friendly, and high-performance concepts. We are focused on positive futures, and inspiring property investments for wealth of the generous kind.

"We write great stuff!" That's our anthem.
We post meaningful material, give positive feedback, comments and posts.

Basic Posting GUIDELINES

1) NO copying/pasting

2) ALL material must be original

3) NO promoting a company or product

4) PLEASE submit ONLY well-considered posts that follow the following criteria

a) ..STAY on topic.

b) Create conversation that adds value to the group

c) Make comments on the posts that arrive here each day

d) Do NOT advertise

e) Support efforts to bring eco-wise choices forward to our colleagues and clients..Posts must relate to and mention Value-added, ECO-friendly, and high-performance concepts.

f) REMOVE advertising of your company or yourself from your posts if you choose to post here.

There are no exceptions to the guidelines. Your post will be deleted willy-greenie if you do NOT respect
the guidelines and rules of this group.

I like that logo for the greenies. Just as we strain fewer muscles to smile than to frown, it is just as easy to look for the good in someone. Thanks for educating the group JaneAnne. I actaully saw some good stuff on Oprah again that I think the group would LOVE. It kind of hits too birds with one stone...helps keep the world safe ANd healthy for our bodies. I'll try to write a blog on that later this week!

I just had my first "rough" response from an AR member and was supported by Stephanie in how to handle it, of which I was very appreciative. She referred me to the rules as my source of back-up.

Just as I was wondering about starting an EcoBroker group, I find your post janeAnne--the one telling about the guidelines. After wandering through some other posts in the ECO-All-Stars group, I'm really excited about comments from areas all across the U.S. I'm way out west, on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. There are eight EcoBrokers in Clallam County. We've had about 3 to 4 years of rapidly expanding building, and now are beginning to see some new building happening, with the emphasis on GREEN--key words being: sustainable, recyclable, solar, healthy for the owners, native landscaping, bioswales. This is happening now, and I'm happy to find a group right here on ACTIVE RAIN that wants to share and encourage each other in spreading the word, influencing builders and developers, bringing ECO into every new-client conversation.

I just found your group I am so happy to find it! I am just putting my Eco Staging plan into works and will start working on Eco Staging for all my houses in 2008. I am looking forward to lots of tips in this group and sharing what is working and not in my Eco Efforts.

Additionally and personally, I would like to see posts that are a bit longer than 3-5 lines of text, or mere antidotes or funny sayings. When I peronally click on a post, I'd sure like to learn something new. I have reviewed every post for about 7 pages deep and found quite a few that perhaps did not belong here based on the guidelies above, and I read 100s of great posts that I thought were A Number One. So, I as a reader and contributor hope that everyone submits there very best stuff here. Sincerely, Lance (a newbie of course).

Great that you are posting rules on how to be part of the group and not afraid to take action. Being in Carlifornia, I watch for Green related things constantly, but it's great to have a forum such as this.

Thanks so much for the guidelines. I love this group. I'm starting my eco-broker classes in the next few days, mostly thanks to the inspiring posts and comments that I've read through this group. It's something that I've always been interested in...guess I just needed a little extra nudge.

Happy to have just joined the group and to find a bunch of like minded individuals. I write a lot on my own personal blog about green products and eco-friendly topics such as native plant gardening, green roofs, solar power, gray-water recycling and more. Looking forward to seeing good content here.

I do have a question regarding your requirement of "no advertising". If you're talking about a product that is eco-friendly or green, can you mention it specifically? I'm assuming you mean no individual agent promotion, right?

Just found your group!

As a green sustainable environmental business owner, this will be my new home on AR!!!

I am working on a manufacturing negotiation that would be making sustainable building products on our tribal reservation and am always keeping my eye on the most innovative products and technologies. So I will be happy to contribute anything I can to help spread the word on all the neat new stuff out there!!!

Has anyone else heard about that MIT professor that created a super powered battery that's completely organic and bio-degradable??? !!! Base it on the layers of the abaloney shell and is made from bacteria that's stacked back to back!!!
