Stingray Anyone???

Well, it was another day of being out in the Gulf of Mexico. Ronnie was fishing while I was reading a book and using my phone to make appointments for tomorrow's showings. Naturally, I had my trusty camera in tow to take photos of everything that he caught. He did NOT disappoint me either.

How about a nice Stingray??? You can't eat them and you have to be careful getting the hook out, but they sure to put up one heck of a fight!!!

This is why we do the 'stingray shuffle' in the water when there is mateing season for these little guys. They have a nasty barb under that tail that can really hurt!

You can see the barb here, by Ron's foot!!! That is something that has sent more than one person to the hospital for treatment!!!

If you look at the top right of the above photo you can see the stingray in the water among the rocks after being released.

That barb is huge! You definitely need to be careful when releasing that thing. Hope your day of fishing was also successful in producing edible fish

Michael - unfortunately this weekend there were no keepers for dinner but he had a great time catching things that he threw back, like this stingray and several large catfish!!!
