Now onto the article.  Nashville Home Inspection - HVAC Supply duct Installation - What Is Wrong With this Picture??

HINT:  Just do it?  Works on the track, not in a house.

Just Do It!

ANSWER:  I don't really have an answer for this, except maybe "Just don't do it?!"  But for those who cannot see it clearly, yes, that is a NIKE shoe box used to complete a line of HVAC.  The box and a tube of caulk! :(

Thank you,

The shoebox register is just a fig newton of your imagination. It is really sheet metal painted to look like a Nike shoe box...

Helping you help others live their American dream...

It's amazing the stuff you see out there. Dryer vents running all over the place with twists and turns are my favorite!

Hmmm...   Now that may be just a little to "going green" for me.  What line is that - is it a fire hazard?

Hello all, and thanks for your comments and questions.

Rosemary, I think the caulk-like material around the edge of the box is just that, caulk.  Lots of caulk.  Whatever they had in the garage that was sticky and gooey and would fill the gaps at the edge of the box.

Michael, HA!.  I agree this is the result of an imagination gone mad.  Maybe they ate too many fig newtons.

Dave, it is truly amazing what goes on out there.  Every week something like this comes along.

Jill, thank you, I did not see the green effect going on here.  I'll have to tune up my eco-friendly home inspector attitude and not be surprised by this type construction in the future:)!
