Zillow.com may not be my favorite real estate site (it’s hard to beat my own & ActiveRain), and the Zestimates in my area may be far from accurate, but the tools provided for AGENTS are just amazing.

First, I want to thank Sara Bonert and ActiveRain University for the great webinar today. Sara works for Zillow and graciously gave her time to teach us how to use the site to boost our ActiveRain or personal websites.

If you are not using Zillow, for multiple reasons, you are missing out.

Sara, along with Brad Andersohn from ActiveRain shared with us how to add the Zillow Real Estate Statistics Chart Widget and Newest Homes Widget right on your blog’s sidebar.

Sara noted how you can write a blog post answering a question on Zillow – post it on ActiveRain for SEO/Google Juice and then return to Zillow and post an answer while linking to your blog post in reference.

Have these things been discussed before? Of course. But sometimes we need a refresher or get new ideas to remind us what we should be doing.

I also want to note that these things that Zillow offers are FREE to agents. You just have to create an account.

And those Zestimates? Well, I find them to be a great talking point. It really does showcase just how real estate knowledge is LOCAL!

Thanks, Spencer! I didn't know it did that if you came from the widget. That is SO COOL! My next step is to figure out how to install these on my personal website. I have been talking about it forever, but knowing how to do it here now, I am certain I can figure it out for my other site! Thank you for your innovative ideas to promote agents!

Marney, I think Sara is a wonderful ambassador from Zillow.  I met her serveral times at the Inman Connect in New York, and then I started to feel really bad about the Zillow rants I'd written!

Pat, she is fantastic. I have my own issues with Zillow, and their incorrect "Zestimates" for my area, but I have embraced how this helps rather than hurts. It helps to show just how LOCAL real estate is! :-)
