Recently Washington State and WA DFI has passed laws requiring Loan officers and Loan Originators to be licensed. Licensing requires a back ground check and an Exam. Applicants with felony convictions are not eligible for a loan originators licenses. Other states have recently enacted similar legislation and have seen there loan officer population drop by 30 to 50%.
