I had the pleasure of "interviewing" the gentlemen and founders of SellsiusRealEstate. There are alot of blogs that I read daily but there is one that continiously steps outside of the box. They are responsible for the Top Ten Female Bloggers (which by the way was an honor), the 101 Blogging Challenge and inventing the word "UnZillowable". I suspect that there will be more to come because they have alot of imagination between the two of them.
So... without further ado.. (Drum roll please...)
Joseph G. Ferrara and Rudolph D. Bachraty III, The Founders of Sellsius°
1.) You both have done so much with your blog - you have as far as I am concerned, you have become the kings of blogging - What Inspired you to start blogging?
We are flattered. We have been fortunate that people like something about us or our writing. We don't know what it is, though we'd love to know.
We started blogging in January after the Inman NYC Connect where we were Silver Sponsors and received a very warm welcome in anticipation of our upcoming idea for a community website. The theme of the show was upcoming innovations in real estate and blogging was one of them. We had been reading blogs for sometime---Property Grunt, Inman, Matrix, Curbed and Rain City Guide. In fact, all these blogs had given us valuable press. (Glenn Roberts at Inman News did a piece on Sellsius back in November of last year.) All this inspired us to start a blog of our own. We had no expectations. It was an outlet to express our love of real estate while we were waiting for our website to be built. Over time we learned the ropes, we met some influential bloggers, caught a couple of breaks, and luckily some of our posts got good airplay. What has been the most rewarding though is meeting new bloggers. We remember how hard it was, and still is, to get noticed, to get visitors, comments & links. The property grunt, an A-list blogger, wrote about us often and gave us so much positive press, even though we were complete unknowns. It was his generosity of spirit which encouraged us to reach out to new bloggers and get them some needed attention. It is something we will continue when we start our own community.
2.) You have many posts - out of all of them, which one(s) would you say are your favorites?
Sellsius° 101 Blog Post Challenge--for the same reason -we could help other bloggers. Also, it was great fun and a unique community event
All our Bell Lab posts---because we we able to participate in blog proactivism. We also got the opportunity to know Ryan Block of Engadget.
Unzillowable, To Coin a Phrase: we got to invent a word and it got into the mainstream. Unzillowable is now googleable. We get to leave a small mark
Mary Kay Gallagher Story: we felt like reporters interviewing a living legend in Brooklyn real estate. She is known as the Queen of Victorians. An 86 year old delight.

Thanks for sharing your intervie here on Active Rain Christine... I will be over to read the whole thing shortly!
It is hard to believe how short a time they've been blogging. Primarily to me Sellsius° Blog is fun. They can cover the same stories other bloggers do and they make it interactive.
you are so right Maureen, they are a fun blog and educational. They have coined more terms, conducted more contests and made their blog so interactive. They were actually the first blog (at least the first blog that I knew what a blog was) that I read.
christine - we sincerely thank you for the interview and we appreciate your support. we've done several interviews, but this one was our favorite by far.
maureen - thank you for being a fan of ours. we are big fans of yours as well.
our approach to blogging is simple: do it because you love it and go your own way.
if you're not having fun then don't bother.
tony - when we started blogging in january, active rain did not exist yet. we think they have done a wonderful job of creating a real estate blogging community.
Rudolph - Thank you once again and I have to admit - you were my first interview. I look forward to your posts daily.
Tony - now how is that for answers? I know that they are member here on Active Rain and have been for a few months. As a matter of fact - they posted an article today. :>
Thanks for shining a light on Sellsius. They, like you, are one of my favorite blogs. They help me keep my finger on the pulse of an industry I am trying harder and hard to know daily. I'm glad that you took a look behind the blog and let us see Rudolf!
I'm a sellsius reader too, thanks to introductions by Maureen McCabe, another top female blogger. They are consistently interesting. I like the idea of a blogging team too.
Thank you everyone - for reading the blog. I just wanted to share a blog that I feel goes above all standards of blogging. I wanted this post to show that yes sometimes the "big boys" want to come and play in the AR.
To me - Maureen hit it on the head - they are community builders!
By far - I think that this was one of my favorite posts!!
I'm one of the ones that the guys at sellsius° noticed and was very humbled by their acknowledgement of me, a brand new person in the blogosphere. Not only have the responded to me on the blog and honored me with the top 10 blogger award as well, but Rudy took the time to figure out why my comments stopped appearing . . . that meant personal and private e-mails with an unknown. These guys are the best. They're real people! And wasn't the blogathon fun? I can't wait for next year!
Rudy - I did!! I saw it this morning. That was so great. Thank you for posting on your site as well and giving me the heads up..
Bonnie - you are right, that is why I wanted to do an interview on them. They were my first choice and I have never done one before so I thought - no, I KNEW that they would be kind to allow me to interview them. It really was one of my favorite posts.. I enjoyed it.
