Black Bear Lodge at Waterville Valley Resort, NH
Are you looking for a mountain getaway that makes you feel as comfortable as home, plus offers the carefree convenience and amenities of a hotel?
The Black Bear Lodge – centrally located in the resort village of Waterville Valley in New Hampshire’s largest playground, the White Mountain National Forest – could be just right for you.
The Black Bear Lodge is a condominiumized hotel and each of the 107 1- and 1-bedroom plus loft suites is individually owned. Owners have the option of placing their unit in a short-term rental program when not in use.
When you step inside the Black Bear Lodge you find a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. In winter, a fire blazes in the main lobby’s fieldstone fireplace. The fireplace is flanked by sofas that invite relaxation. Coffee and tea are always available. Large windows and skylights brighten the lodge’s common areas. Several hallway nooks reveal overstuffed armchairs or loveseats, perfect for a quiet chat or time with an absorbing book. Potted green plants, wood paneling, and rustically-styled furnishings are consistent with the Black Bear Lodge’s warm and comfortable lodge personality. Both main and upper lobby areas have Wi-Fi connection available.
When you open the door to a Black Bear Lodge suite, you find an uncomplicated decor that reflects the decorating choices of the individual owner. Each suite is fully furnished and equipped, including a kitchen, and sleeps six comfortably. Many units are air conditioned.
Hotel-style amenities at the Black Bear Lodge include a 24-hour front desk with professional rental and property management services, an on-site indoor/outdoor pool, outdoor jacuzzi, exercise room, sauna and steam room, and kid’s game room.
The Black Bear Lodge’s building footprint is oriented to take advantage of Waterville Valley’s mountain views. Suites on one side of the building face the slopes of Waterville Valley Ski Area, while those on the other side look out on the mountains of the Sandwich Range.
The Black Bear Lodge is a quick three minute walk to Town Square, Waterville Valley’s hub for shopping, dining and off-mountain recreation. At Town Square you will find an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, and a general store, as well as the community’s indoor Ice Arena. Concerts, plays, and entertainment are often presented in the Town Square. In summer the Town Square is home to the bike rental shop and in winter the Nordic center. In summer, rental kayaks, canoes and pedal boats line the dock of Corcoran’s Pond at Town Square’s edge, awaiting fun-seeking paddlers. Spectators can enjoy watching from the gazebo above the dock or from the sandy beach on the far side of the pond. A skateboard and BMX bike park are located just a short walk from the Lodge, and an award-winning tennis center and historic golf course are minutes away. The White Mountain Athletic Club, which boasts indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzis and steam rooms, as well as cardio and strength-training rooms, are also within walking distance of the Black Bear Lodge.
Don’t feel like walking? The free resort-wide shuttle bus stops at the Lodge’s front door in winter and summer.
So, if you’re looking to invest in recreation-home real estate – an investment you can use and enjoy as well as rent – look at the Black Bear Lodge. You’d be challenged to find a more accessible and beautiful year-round mountain resort than Waterville Valley.
