PUBLIX ON FLEMING ISLAND IS REMODELING ~ FLEMING ISLAND FL
Our Publix on Fleming Island is remodeling. Every night Monday through Thursday, the store closes at 9 PM. The store employees can be seen hurrying to unload the cases which will be replaced or refurbished during the night. This is expected to go on for the next couple of weeks.
I tell people moving here that Publix is one of the nicest things about moving to Florida. Winner of more awards than I can name here, Publix is a joyful place to shop. They have scored higher than any other grocery store in a survey by the American Customer Satisfaction Index from 1995-2010. The employees are happy and offer to help you with your groceries to the car. They do not want nor expect a tip. The Customer Service Department will order special items for customers.
Publix's philosophy of never knowingly disappointing their customers is legendary in the grocery industry.
George W. Jenkins founded Publix in 1930 in Winter Haven, Florida, and his store spread to most other parts of Florida and is now in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. The Corporate Headquarters and main Distribution Center are now located in Lakeland, Florida.
Publix is the largest employee-owned grocery store in the country. It has 1,000 stores and is a Fortune 500 Company. It is in the top 10 of grocery store chains.
If you haven't experienced shopping at Publix, you are in for a treat. If you are a regular, then you know that Publix wants to please its customers.
