Elizabeth Charlotte NC - The City's New Revitalization Focus

Homes for sale Elizabeth Charlotte NCIf you're shopping for homes for sale near Uptown Charlotte NC, the Elizabeth community offers both proximity to the city (Uptown is within walking distance in most areas of Elizaeth) and historic homes with a flare of hip!  Historic Elizabeth is home to two of Charlotte's major hospitals, North Carolina’s largest community college (Central Piedmont Community College) and the city’s oldest park, Independence Park Homes for sale in Elizabeth Charlotte NC range from brick mansions to quaint bungalows and even new townhomes and condominiums.  The neighborhood was home to department store magnate William Henry Belk, and the city’s first neighborhood movie theater, The Visulite, a popular night spot in Elizabeth which features live music.  New shops, up-scale restaurants and revitalization along Elizabeth Avenue has created a trendy new Charlotte NC hot spot which attracts many visitors to the Elizabeth community.

Elizabeth Revitalization Project Charlotte NCGrubb Properties, Novant Healthcare (Presbyterian Hospital) and Central Piedmont Community College have joined forces to establish The Elizabeth Avenue Redevelopment Plan, a $240 million revitalization project.  The Plan encompasses a six-block area along historic Elizabeth Avenue between Presbyterian and CPCC.   The project is expected to include 340,000 square feet of Class A office space, 800+ residential homes and condos, and more than 250,000 square feet of upscale retail including Whole Foods Market, specialty boutiques and services, a 150+ room hotel, a multiplex movie theatre, and even more trendy restaurants as well as live entertainment venues including Carpe Diem, NOFO on Liz, Volarè Italiano Ristorante and more.

Cajun Queen Restaurant Charlotte NC

Other popular sites in Elizabeth Charlotte NC include the rose gardens at Independence Park, a New Orleans rooftop dinner at The Cajun Queen or a luxurious night out at Carpe Diem followed by a rooftop drink at my favorite martini bar (with increcible skyline views), Loft 1523.

Debe,

I love the Elizabeth area of Charlotte.  I reminds me of Dilworth and some of the areas of Myers Park where I grew up.  I live in a similar area here in Greensboro.  It is nice to live in a well established walking community in town.

Hey Debe,

Well of course you have another great blog post.  I wasn't aware of the revitalization going on.  Meg and I love Cajun Queen and Antony's.  We used to eat there all the time when we lived there.

Thanks
