Chocolate, the Media and Health Care
Women have known about the benes of chocolate - I'm sure it is an old wives' tale in most cultures...I'll volunteer for the new study!!
The media is reporting the a new study has shown that eating a small amount of chocolate each day will reduce heart attacks up to 40%. The study followed 20k people over a number of years to produce the results.
The stucy also said that further research would be needed to verify the results since the data was produced by people returning a few questionnaires concerning their chocolate consumption. No data was formulated by actually measuring the amount of consumption in a controlled setting.
So, in reality you have no true study, just mass media jumping on yet another issue that it believes is timely and important. Maybe the proximity to Easter and the purchase of candy advertising has nothing to do with it. And what sane person would believe that the pharmaceutical industry would allow such claims to stand? Billions of dollars of drugs rendered useless all because of a Hersey Bar?
Can't we just eat chocolate because it tastes good?
