Via Steve Loynd, Alpine Lakes Real Estate Inc., Loon Mt, NH.:

Weather reports suggest 6 - 10 inches have fallen, plus the snow melt that is a right of spring. Not only did the rain fall, but the rivers have taken down some very large trees (with additional roots still being compromised). This is an island on my property, and is usually 10+ feet above the river most of the year.

This is a huge Birch tree that came down in my yard last night. Our water level is about Ten feet above the average  seasonal high water mark.

Not sure if these Birch trees will survive the unusual high water , and expect to be running a chain saw when the river drops back to it's normal levels.

This first picture was taken this morning, the second was a week ago. The blocks of ice are floating down the river today last week they were 10 - 20 feet above the water level (and laying among the trees).

*** These two Photos were taken from from the same exact spot a few weeks apart***

Huge blocks of ice one week, Floods the next and the weather report is calling for Temperatures well in to the 70's this weekend. If you are tired of the same weather everyday...visit New England, we have all seasons in a matter of days.
