According to MLS there were a total of 59 closed sales for Kauai County for the month of March 2010. Only 11 of these or 19% were REO sales. This is a much lower percentage then many other states. I have not seen an increase in my REO inventory but there is talk that Bank of America will be increasing it’s foreclosure rate and inventory. The first time homebuyer tax credit ends soon. It will be interesting to see if this will slow down sales. Short sales are picking up as lenders are trying to get their act together for this process.
