I don't curse! I very seldom if ever even use a slang word, BUT DANG IT I'M MAD!!
I'm on the laptop today because I've been fighting a virus on my office computer all week and it ain't dead yet. Someone stole my week and McAfee hasn't even been able to clean it yet. The blankety blank (side note here to the dictionary police - I do not know if blankety blank is spelled correctly or not and frankly right now, I do not care, I have larger alligators snapping at my backside.) - back to my sentence - the blankety blank people that write computer viruses and send them out into the world should have a special kind of punishment. I can not think of a punishment that is bad enough at the moment.
You see, I let the grandchildren use my office computer this last week-end. Late that night, I heard voices in the house and there were no tv's on. When I found it, they were coming out of my computer even though no programs were running. I SHUT IT DOWN.
Next morning, screen flashes on with some type of asian writing and then goes to pictures. I delete. McAfee is telling me that a trojan was found and it couldn't delete, couldn't clean, etc. I VIRUS SCAN the computer. "Shot 12 of them suckers!" (That's called McCurtain County English and I only use it to make my point.)
Scanned again, the virus software found 9 more, I cleaned etc. I kept going throught this scenario until they were all dead. Relief ! Whew !
Next morning - they're back - just like the alien movie!
Time to call the computer police. I manage to log on and pay the $65 for McAfee to clean my computer up. The trojan will not let McAfee take control of my computer through their website. So I've been going through the steps via telephone.
Now they tell me that the regular guys that do the clean stuff can't do it and I've been escalated. I have to wait for them to call me.
Stay tuned - cause when I find out where this sucker came from and what they're up to, I'm going to tell the world and if you can think of an appropriate punishment for anyone that talented that would spend their time authoring computer viruses - please share it!
