April Fool's Day Cracked me up

By
Real Estate Agent with United Country Ponderosa Realty, Red Feather Lakes, Colorado

April Fool's Day cracked me up!

In reality, our lake was cracking up, and made some very interesting designs as the ice is slowly melting away.

Ice on Batterson Lake

It snowed today! Red Feather Lakes got about 4-5 inches in a short amount of time. Mother Nature likes April Fools Day too!

As it was snowing one of my associates who is sicker-than-a-dog called in for her messages.  I told our receptionist that I really needed to speak to her.  I asked her if she would take me up to a listing she had and show me around the property.

"Today?" she croaked.

"Yeah, I really need to check it out for this buyer and I need your help- we can take my car?"

Dead Silence....

"Honey," she said,  (that was nice, I can think of several other choice names she should have called me) "I can't go today, I'm sick..."

Then I started laughing and said "April Fools!"

At least she got a laugh out of it, I hope it made her feel a little better!

By the time I went home, the plows were doing a great job of getting all that white slush off of the road.

So, I swung into Gate 8 to take a few pictures of my new listing.  3.79  beautifully wooded acres in Glacier View! Only $38,500 and that's no April Fools!

Hope you had a good April 1st!

Hi Sheldon, I would be very happy if you would just take this one lot, then I'll find you another one :)  I'm glad you thought the prank was funny too, (I thought you would)  Have a great weekend!  Thanks Sheldon!

Hi Paula, Thanks for stopping by, I thought the cracks were really cool too!  (great pun!)  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Melinda, We are about 110 miles North of Castlerock- that's a guess because my sister-in-law lives in Parker and she is 98 miles from us. It will take about 2 to 3 poles for REA to bring electricity into this lot, telephone is not too far.  Wells can be anywhere from 200 to 700 feet, it just depends.  There is a home not far from this lot whose well is 400 feet deep.

Thanks for stopping by Melinda, I appreciate it!  I hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Jennifer, Thank you for the wishes for the listing, I hope I can go back soon and take some nice green photos! I'm glad you liked the ice designs, too! Jennifer, you never know who might be a prankster, I guess! HAHA!  Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Hi Mike, I hope you enjoy your skiing this weekend! Sounds like a great get-a-way.  Thank you for stopping in, I appreciate it!

Hi Tony & Darcy, We both got pranked by Mother Nature for April Fool's Day!  Glad you liked the ice designs and thanks for coming by today.  I hope your snow melts over the weekend!

Hi Bruce, It does look like a giant snowflake doesn't it?  There is a foothill view from this lot, but I didn't climb to get the shot yesterday, it's not the big snow capped view that you like so well.  I'll have to go back and get more photos soon and I will be watching my caller I.D. for you next April 1st! LOL  Thank you for stopping by, have a great weekend Bruce!

Hi Dorie, Thank you, I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend too! These wet Spring snows will help green things up, but the nights might be too cold for any little flowers to peek out yet :-)

Hi Caren, They say laughter is the best medicine - hopefully she is cured now! Hee Hee  I'm glad you came by and liked the ice designs and the listing :-)  Thanks Caren, have a terrific weekend!

I thought I had made it through the entire day yesterday without a single April Fool's joke played on me, and it turned out I was wrong. I was telling my husband this morning about a new channel on About.com where all the guide's websites can be turned into Avatar sites . . . because About.com realized it was missing out on an entire audience . . .  hey, I got an mail from About.com with links and everything! Oops. April Fools.

Hey Mary, I think your friend was a good sport - you're too funny. I love your ice cracking up, it does look interesting, but I can't believe that you had snow yesterday that is an April Fools joke. We're in short sleeves with the doors open because of the perfect weather.  And loving it!

Thank you Myrl, it was interesting that the cracks looked like snowflakes, I thought so too!  Not the best weather for hiding Easter eggs outside, though! LOL  Hope you have a great Easter weekend and thanks for your thoughts on it Myrl!

Tammy, I can't really believe we are still getting snow either, LOL!  I know you like the warm weather but 90 degrees is too hot for me!  I guess it is all about what you're used too:-)  I hope you have a nice Easter Tammy, thanks for stopping in!

My son called me on April Fools, to confirm his families trip over to the Front Range, the following day, and said, "Well, it's snowing right now..." I said, "I'm not stupid boy, I know it's April 1st!".  He said, "I'm not lying its snowing, I'll send you a picture!", he wasn't, it was, he did!  He lives in the "Banana Belt" of the Western Slope, where it "hardly ever snows".

Mary:  I wonder.  How long did it take you to get used to living in Paradise ?  I think I would live my entire life in simple amazement if I lived there.  How do you manage to get anything done... or do you just end up taking it for granted after awhile ?
