50 Comments on The Power of Social Media ~ Are You Here To Stay?
Lori, makes no difference how many times we've seen it ~ the power of watching it hits like a smack each time! Thanks for bringing it back to the forefront... I'll bet there will be a new one soon as believe it or not those numbers actually have changed already!!! Congrats on your
!!
I saw this video at Rain Camp Dallas. Staggering the numbers. Search engines might soon be replaced by social media sites like facebook. Who knows?
Lori - I believe Rain Camp showed this video at the begining of the presentation if memory serves.. A very amazing video for sure... Thanks for sharing it with us.
It is a popular update of another popular video. There has been a major shift in the way we gather and use information... Those that don't change will be standing around wondering what just happened.
Hi Lori -- I saw this recently, very powerful eh? Google: "Shift Happens" and watch the 1st of 2 videos on YouTube, it'll blow your mind -- along the sames lines as this but more generically on how fast things and technology is changing.
Thanks for all your comments...normally I would one by one respond...but today has been pretty crazy...crazy good! And I need to grab a bite to ear.
I promise I will reciprocate to each comment...I will be by to comment in return! Thanks!
BTW ~ I was at Active Rain University today...WOW! Brad...you rock! and I loved the chat....gosh that is sooo fun!
Hi Lori! May as well accept it and get better at it! The numbers are shocking!
Lori I too saw this at RainCamp but it was nice to take a second look at the numbers.
It's clear that social media has an ever-expanding presence and influence in our lives. Something in the video that made me wonder, though, is the statement about people not searching for products and services in the near future because the products and services will come to the people instead.
If social media is built upon the concept of choice (choosing whom you associate with and seeking information within the social media networks), then aren't we still taking an active role in obtaining the things we use?
"Successful companies in social media act more like party planners ..." I like that.
Hello:
I saw this video at RainCamp Dallas. It is food for thought, although already kind of outdated (did you see the MySpace logo?).
I saw this video in a class on using Social Media in a class last week at Keller Williams Cupertino. It is amazing how much social networking is impacting our daily lives
It is huge! I just joined twitter, great video btw, thanks for posting it.
Unlike so many of the Active Rainers who do go to Rain Camp...I have never yet had that experience. It must be awesome. I saw this at a seminar I was at recently. And you are right...this is far out dated...so you can imagine how much more viral the concept has become.
If you like myself are a relative newcomer to facebook you know firsthand the unbelievable growth happening on the face.
I found Paul's comment most interesting...it does seem true in a small sense we do make choices on what platforms and who we associate with...but I do believe that given the proper care and attention that it can take on a life of its own.
For example, I took an AR webinar today. It was fantastic BTW! And with the capability of sharing so much of what we do on the web can take directions we might never anticipate.
I think one of the greatest things I experienced was I had read an AR post about staging. When I went to a listing, I suggested it. She did it. Come to find out she had a blog about her crafts. She posted a lovely blurb about it...then posted a link to my site on it. I couldn't believe the number of visits to my site...and yes...it went pending in 20 some days... :)
Yes, surprising numbers to say the least...and interesting.
This video (or a very similar one) is part of the Web 2.0 course that comes with the updated e-PRO course -- very interesting.
Lori, I watched the video and the numbers are staggering. Obviously, social media is where its at if you want to expand your business. Thanks.
Astounding information, Lori! I had not seen this before.
Debi
