Loon Mountain NH area Up-date – Good Friday
Skiing is still really great; the Snow board Park has excellent coverage.
Guys and gals in shorts and tee shirts soaking up the sun and skiing, looks
like a blast (I had to go back to the office unfortunately).
Logging Operations continue on the South Peak side.
Last weekend was it for the south facing peak, and Loon wasted no time in
their moves towards adding terrain for next ski season. To the left of the lift
line you can see the newly cut slope (yet to be named) but without a doubt
A black diamond (most difficult) pitch. This new slope runs along side the
Rip Saw slope which is one of the only Double Black Diamonds on the East coast.
No Reason for concern the Cruiser and Boom Run trails are both intermediate slopes and will get you from the top…to the lift just as quick.
Nearing Completion on a South Peak home.
This Beautiful Adirondack style home features one of the biggest stone fireplaces I have ever seen in a private home. The Additional stone work around the support columns are a nice touch, and compliment the Cedar and Douglas fir posts. This home will have all the bells and whistles when it’s completed (and the owner will be able to ski home at the end of the day on the hill next winter).
I'll have to visit someday when the workers aren't all over the place...we have roofers, masons, siding contractors, a plumber and an electrician all working on Good Friday and happy to be busy. As part of my Architectural Review Board position I visited this home nearing completion...all that is left is some final landscaping details. The use of existing boulders was a perfect way to leave some natural elements and the moss covered rock makes it look as though this home has been here for some time (but it is new).
Looking to buy or build in the White Mountains of New Hampshire...give me a call!
