The community surrounding Crowder Park in Apex North Carolina loves it's park, especially in Spring.
There's nothing like one of the first warm days of spring, especially when the children are off of school, to bring families out to Crowder Park.
With the trees in early bloom and the azaleas just starting to produce some color, Crowder Park in Apex North Carolina was brimming with activity this week.
Located at 4709 TenTen Rd, near the intersection of Holly Springs Rd, Crowder Park was opened in 1998 with land donated by Mrs. Doris Crowder and funds from Wake County.
Are you a nature buff? Crowder Park has 2 trails for walking, running, and enjoying nature. The Inner Trail is 3/10 of a mile long and follow the perimeter of Crowder Pond. The observation deck and the boardwalk are wonderful places to watch for turtles, fish, and enjoy the ducks. in past years there has been a beaver family that built a dam at the far end.
(No fishing is allowed, and please don't feed the animals, as it ruins their natural habitat)
The Outer trail of Crowder Park is 8/10 of a mile long (for all you runners who like to keep track) and follow the edge of the park. This trail leads you past the Bird Garden, the Prairie Garden, and the Theme Garden.
Both trails have been newly paved and are easy to run on, walk the dogs, and for kids to ride their little bikes and scooters.
Planning a group picnic? There are 3 shelters with charcoal grills, picnic tables and playgrounds available. Each is near a restroom and parking. The Shelters range in size from holding 25 people to 100. Please call the park for more information and fees.
