Mountain Shadows is a neighborhood located on the west side of Colorado Springs in the foothills and not far from Garden of the Gods. A majority of the homes are semi custom and custom homes built in the 1980s and 1990s.

The school district is school district 11. The elementary schools are Trailblazer and Chipeta. The Junior High and High School are Holmes Junior High and Coronado High School.

Mountain Shadows is conveniently located near parks, shopping, restaurants and entertainment.
