91 Comments on Ask for what you really want....
Hi Ingrid~ It doesn't hurt to verbalize I suppose! I have found that my business comes from word of mouth....
Ingrid,
Your advice applies not only to business people, but to the consumers as well. Our clients should ask for what they want too! Those who are successful develop a balance between satisfying the consumer and meeting one's own needs as a business person. I think more emphasis is generally placed on the consumer's needs though. Realistically, businesses and consumers are interdependent and can not survive without one another. Thanks for reminding us to ask for what we want!

Never let anyone every say "not in my market" or "it won't work in my market". Because it will... Cheers!
I asked for a Million Dollar Listing...and I got it! Now I'm asking for a BUYER for my Million Dollar Listing :-) It's being worked out as we speak.
You got it Ingred, you gotta ask for something or you will settle for nothing.
It goes along with the "put it out there in the universe" philosophy, Ingrid. If you ask, they will come.
Mom always said you get half of what you ask for and none of what you don't. If you don't ask for the big referrals, how can you get them?
Good advice. Let's see how well it works.
Ingrid,
Ships tend to sail on the course they are charted. It's good to have a plan of where we are headed.

I agree with Melissa - the clients with the smaller loans often refer you to friends with bigger loans. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face. While imagining big loans coming through the door is great, I would take advantage of the uptick in the market and steer your business in the direction you want to go.

Your post is right on and I believe you will never rise above your expectations until you ask

Hello Everyone!
Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement and for commenting on my post. I was out all day yesterday (broken A/C at my house...brutal) and came back to 83 comments! I have to say wasn't expecting such a response when I quietly typed this the other night.
I look forward to reading your blog entries as well. I feel very connected to the AR community and love the opportunity to contribute ideas because I get so many great ideas from all of you.
Thanks Again!

I am totally on the same page! I believe by putting it in the universe and allowing the flow to naturally occur you can get everything you ask for! Often times this occurs through smaller things leading to the big picture. By creating the energy to allow things to easily flow, abundance follows!
The universe always wants to hear from us first, before delivering what it is we want. Best to make sure that we are asking for it, or we'll just get that default position!
OK Ingrid, if you ever have a buyer over $500K or seller in Colorado, specifically in the Denver market I want your referral ;-)
and I promise I will send my Virginia referrals your way
John Marshall,
emailed ya... only happy messages on the blogs. Hey... I do have family there. Let's keep in touch. I am adding you as an associate if you don't mind.

Always think big. Pretty simple, but effective. The work is pretty much the same, but the payoff is bigger.
Wayne,
Yep. There is a great book called "The Magic of Thinking Big" I believe it's by Dave Schwartz... It's been a while though....
Thanks for the comment.

Just reviewing some of the great featured posts of the past today looking for inspiration and ideas for writing some new content for my lethbridge realtor blog. This was a great featured post. I accidentally became the local King of the Mobile home market, which was the most work for the least pay possible.
I thankfully learned a lot selling those trailers, but now absolutely avoid those low end market properties if at all possible. The work is actually more than a traditional or higher end home I find.
Robert,
Thanks for the compliment! You can use it however you wish if you want. Congrats on becoming King!
