I woke up this morning with a Case of the Mondays' - sometimes the only motivation I have to get up and get my day started is a good cup caffeine. One of my favorite stops is a Central Austin favorite, Caffe Medici.
I love the Clarksivlle/West Lynne area, I'd live closer to this little part of Austin Heaven if I could, so close to it all, but with an Old Austin feeling. Caffe Medici sits is right off West Lynne, it is known for their espresso - but that is a little much for me. I prefer their lattes or iced coffee no matter what you are drinking you will not be disappointed. I should preface this with the fact that I am by no means a coffee expert but I have yet to meet someone who didn't give them the thumbs up.
I also like it because it is a great place to just relax, study, get work done, play on your computer with a delicious drink in hand - all those things that a good coffee shop is conducive too. Thank you Caffe Medici for the free wi-fi and plenty of outlets for my power cord, just another reason you keep me coming back for more. Spring is the perfect time to take advantage of their outdoor seating but if it just too warm for you can make yourself comfortable in the loft area inside.
Every rose does have its thorn because parking is not the easiest, it is definitely doable but getting a spot is a spot is a hot commodity. At the end of the day, they are a local coffee shop that does it right, they have a great feel, great atmosphere (just so cozy and relaxing) and fantastic employees. The baristas know what they are doing, I haven't had a drink there that I didn't savor until the last drop.
A good stop if you are looking to get a little kick start this morning or any morning.
