The neighbourhood of Wedgewood Creek began growing in North East Oakville in the mid 1980's right in the midst of the new home building boom. Farmer's fields and riding stables became subdivisions of mostly two storey, detached brick homes with double car garages.
The Queen Elizabeth Highway is a natural division between north and south Oakville. Homes in the area range from approximately 2000 square feet to over 3500 square feet.
