Village GreenThe developers of Caughlin Ranch recognized that not everyone looking for homes for sale in Reno would want to spend the time and money involved to build their own custom home. As a result, several neighborhoods were designated in the master plan as tract home developments, where Reno home buyers could purchase a ready-to-go home in a nice neighborhood at a reasonable price.

At the top of Caughlin Parkway in the Caughlin Ranch master planned community sits one such neighborhood, the subdivision of Village Green. This neighborhood of high end tract homes is a popular spot for home buyers looking for a midrange price point within Caughlin Ranch. The homes come in a wide range of sizes, anywhere from two to five bedrooms, one or two stories. and square footage ranging from the midteens to 5,000 plus. Prices run from the mid to high $200,000's on up to the $600,000's for the largest and most upgraded models. Some of the homes feature spectacular city and mountain views.

Although the yards are relatively small, they are nicely landscaped and pride of ownership is apparent throughout the neighborhood. As with many Reno neighborhoods, the neighbors are out and about, working in the garden, walking their dogs, going for a stroll or jog, or taking their kids on a bike ride. This is not the type of neighborhood where no people are seen, and one wonders if anyone lives there! Halloween, for example, is a virtual block party with throngs of people, mostly in costume, trick-or-treating, visiting, or just wandering about enjoying the festivities.

One of the most popular spots in the neighborhood is the park, which sits between the Caughlin Ranch Shopping Center and Caughlin Ranch Elementary School. Large expanses of grass are perfect for ball games of various sorts. Swings and jungle gyms are available for the little guys. A large covered picnic area complete with BBQ facilities is heavily utilized during the summer for family picnics, birthday parties, scout and school outings, and about anything else one could imagine.
