Fontana Park features a large state-of-the-art community center, an aquatic center, a skate park, and several child-oriented play areas; Four 14- to 18-foot-tall stainless steel kinetic sculptures named ‘Sun and Moon', ‘Passion Flower', ‘Spira' and ‘Trinity' that twirl and spin in the breeze. Their hypnotic motion is meant to spark young imaginations about scientific subjects like physics and astronomy.
There aren't any swings and monkey bars at the expansive outdoor oasis, but there's a whale, a dolphin and a sunken ship playground; Giant ladybugs, catapillars, snails and frogs shaded by butterfly and flower shaped structures; The skateboard park has three bowls with the shape and depth of empty swimming pools, one has a pipe on which skaters can perform 360-degree loops; There's even an off-leash play area for Rover.
There's a state of the art Aquatics Center at Fontana Park that is lit for nighttime play. It includes a 14-lane competition pool, geared for lap swimming, a smaller training pool; and a splash play area with rainbow-colored arches spraying water, while larger kids are thrilled by the 30 ft dual water slides.
Jessie Turner Community Center, a 43,000 square foot regional facility at Fontana Park is designed to meet the needs of the community with programs and classes that benefit the active lifestyles of Fontana residents. The Jessie Turner Health and Fitness Community Center features an indoor gymnasium, fitness gym, dance/aerobics room, multi-purpose room, resource center, a 4,689 square foot banquet room, meeting room and technology area with an extensive computer lab.
