At least it looks that way to me today! I have just returned from a sunrise walk along the beach in Hollywood Florida. I am here from the desert because my BBF (My 5 year old granddaughter Lily tells me this is how you refer to your Best Friend Forever) is hostessing a wedding for her son Lars tonight. Since my brother also lives in Fort Lauderdale and it is his birthday on Monday, I decided we should make it somewhat of a family reunion. His kids have flown in. My son and daughter are here and the grandbabies!
The last time the whole family was together was two and half years ago in Hawaii, shortly after my Dad had passed away. I decided it would be fun to honor his life by bringing the rest of my family to Kona Village for a week. There were 11 of us and my brother summed it up best at the end of the week when he said,"and we still like each other."
We are together for a happy occasion this time- a wedding and have added a new member of the family, Julia Elizabeth Yellott, born on February 18 this year. Last time we were missing my nephew, Rusty Jones and this time daughter, Coco Fossland is absent. We number 11 again and I am so grateful that I have worked hard enough to have saved the money to fly us from Tucson to Fort Lauderdale and to stay at The Diplomat Hotel. We are enjoying a cabana by the beach and looking forward to the wedding on a boat tonight with Lily as flower girl. I think having money buy experiences rather than more toys works for me!
Lily caught her first fish at Uncle Andy's house yesterday!
And, as nice as the days and weather and surroundings are. Money has bought the things money can't buy: Love and connection. Caring and memories. It makes me remember why the hard work is all worth it!!!!
