Koloa Plantation Days Celebration On Kauai in Hawaii

This has been an exciting week on Kauai as we celebrate the annual Koloa Plantation Days. Today is the big parade with horses, antique cars, floats, hula dancers, and politicians. I'm lucky to have a front row seat from the Century 21 real estate office. Not only does the parade pass right by the windows but it forms just steps away. Here is a photo of the parade that is starting just 5 minutes from now.

Ah yes, it was a fun parade indeed. But there were no hula dancers this year. Instead they had 2 pig-roasting floats and an outhouse float. Hmmmm, what were people thinking? In defense of Kauai, the outhouse float was following the horses and it was being put to good use!

Just as good was the rodeo yesterday which wrapped up this year's celebration. I enjoyed both events in "costume" and will post a photo of me in my cowboy duds.
