Does anyone know how to file an opening brief in an appellate court?

By

I have a traffic ticket that I am fighting, and now I've reached the appellate division of the superior court and have to file an opening brief on April 22nd.

I do not want to hire an attorney for this little thing, as it was just a traffic ticket, and I figured I could do this myself.

Well, I'm at the point now where I need to file an opening brief.

Does that mean I submit it in writing, verbally in court, or both?

Although it is sort of interesting learning about all of this, I do have to admit I am feeling where this process has started to go a little over my head.

Any advice, or past experiences that you can elighten me with?

I'm not sure, but you will probably get some good advice here.  Good luck with your ticket! :o)

Hi Ralph... Knowing the REALTORS on AR, any pertinent response you receive will be prefaced by "I am not an attorney, so I cannot offer legal advice, but..."  :)

Ralph,

It may take a little digging but if you go over to the Court office they may have some forms that you can use.

Or at least, if they can provide you with something similar, you can just copy it. Remember, most of the filings are public records.
