NOW IS THE TIME: Gardening Tips!

Now is the time!
Periwinkle

The periwinkle is blooming.

Andromeda

                                            The andromeda is flowering.

Crabapple

The crabapples are ablaze with color.

Spring is in the air!

Now is the time to work a little harder so you can relax more later.

Dandilions

The dandilions are emerging, and now is the time to yank those suckers out of the ground  before they flower and send seeds all over your lawn. Right now, their roots are shorter, so it will be easier to get the entire root.  If you leave the root in, you have wasted your time and energy.

Some people spray chemicals all over the place, but if you prefer a safer, more natural way to rid you lawn of these pests, a little elbow grease will definitely pay off in the future.

Here is the tool.
Dandilion Tool

It is specifically for getting the entire root of the dandilion out.  Make sure it looks like the photo below.

You have a little while before they start flowering, but if you remove even ten a day now, your yard will look so much better later.
You will be glad you spent the effort.

Happy Spring!

I am about to start plainting in my yard, and never thought about the smaller roots right now.  I usually just tried to pull during the rain so it would be easier.

Peggy - good gardening pictures and it really is the time to plant some floers now. I have a small garden and basically container garden, but still love the flowers.

Good tips!  I always work as hard as I can on my yard in the spring and then I can just let it do it's thing for the summer.

Dandilions may be the death of me... or my lawn for that matter :)

Peggy...These are very nice spring blooming pictures.  The dandilions are not so nice, but where we live there are very few if any.  I am very happy for spring to finally be here!
