The first annual Scotland County Highland Games last October was a huge success and now plans are being made for an even better Highland Games in Scotland County, NC in Oct 2010!
The Scotland County Highland Games will be held on the grounds of the John Blue Home and Historical Complex in Laurinburg, NC from Oct 1-3, 2010.

This site contains the John Blue Home and several other historic Scottish-American homesteads as well as a working ante-bellum cotton gin, and a general store. The games site provides an immersion into the Scottish-American historical experience of this region. Local hotels and restaurants will offer Scottish-inspired Southern hospitality to welcome you to Laurinburg and Scotland County, North Carolina.
The Scottish theme is everywhere you look in Laurinburg, Scotland County, NC from the "Fighting Scots" high school mascot and the band members dressed in Scottish kilts and attire to the St. Andrews Presbyterian College with their Scottish theme. St. Andrews has a Scottish Heritage Museum and boasts one of the best bagpipe bands in the country.
