In addition to the University, another large reason that draws people to Gainesville is the medical network. We have two large hospital networks. SHANDS HOSPITAL and NORTH FLORIDA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER. Both of these hospitals generate so many professional transfers to Gainesville. We also have a VA Hospital.
