I recently finished my taxes and found myself getting a bigger than usual refund than normal. I always mail my returns via snail mail. This year the accountant talked me into filing electronically. I agreed and said what the heck i will give it a try.
I am old school and really don't trust the security of any of these websites. I found out that within three days my savings account had already been credited by the state. I then came up with a thought that concerned me quite a bit. I didn't remember giving my account number to my accountant. So I sent him an email. I asked him if he had my account number already or was this big brother. He answered back Big Brother!!! I guess I have had my head in the sand for a while. So while I tried to guard my account numbers, etc with great care they already know my numbers and can credit and I am sure debit at will. I don't know about you but this scares the daylights out of me.
