History Reenactment through Farmville, Virginia

Reenactment

If your a history lover - you'll love living in South Central Virginia.  The area is filled with all sorts of historical buildings and sites.  It's not to surprising to turn a corner and find yourself smack dab in the middle of the Civil War.  This was the scene on April 6, 2010 in Farmville, Virginia. A group of reenactors followed in the footsteps of their brave ancestors along the path of Lee's final retreat.

For those not familiar with this particular part of the Civil War. After the last major battle of the Civil War the Confederate forces retreated towards Lynchburg from Sayler's Creek battlefield. Their route took them through and around Farmville, Virginia on April 6-7.

So, if you're looking for an area rich in local history you can't find a better spot than the Heart of Virginia to take a step back in time. Living in this area will easily allow any history lover to visit many of Civil War battlefields that hold reenactments, historical buildings and cemeteries that can be toured.

Larry, Farmville is a very nice area...I, of course, visit for the shopping.  If you haven't done so yet, a post on the shopping would be nice.
