Do you see in the photo what appears to be smoke?  Well folks, that isn't smoke, it's pollen.

Not only have we had a week of huge pollen clouds floating in the air, but it also feels like it's raining pollen on you when you go outside.  I actually had yellow toes when I worse sandles earlier this week.  My car has been covered.  My porch, although covered, has been bright yellow and each customer who came into the office brought a little inside.  We'd sweep it off, hose it off several times a day, but it kept blowing back.

I've been through an entire box of puffs plus this week as well.  I sneeze and I cough and then I sneeze some more.

Today the rain came and it smells clean and fresh and I can breathe.  At this very moment it's just pouring rain and I'm so thankful.  No pollen clouds at the moment.

And because my husband was off work today I also did my spring planting and he helped.  I got him to go to Agee and pick up fresh potting soil and Red Verbena and white Petunias for my office porch.  We got them all planted before the rain started.  So we are set for summer with flowers at the office and for that I'm thankful.  I also had him pick up a new larger pot for one of my office plants.  It was my "money tree" and it had become root bound in the too small pot it had been in for three years.  Now it has room to grow again.

And I'm always thankful for my Donald.  I only have to ask and he usually does whatever it is I need help with and never complains.

So today I'm thankful for spring, thankful for the rain and everyday I'm thankful for my Donald.

Li- he is certainly MY dearest.

Mary- You got that right.  And I had others to compare.

Wanda- I've lived here forever and that was a first for me as well.  This is the worst I've ever seen the pollen.

Lou- It certainly was.

Tammy, I have a yellow car now and lungs to match.  So glad it doesn't affect me too much!

Kevin- We sold a house this week to clients from Naples, they were very happy when I said I'd NEVER seen the pollen this bad.

Mary- me too, it's really coming down right now and I came home from work and Donald made dinner.  Today was just perfect.

Tammy - WOW! Can't say I've ever seen a pollen cloud either but I have on occasion been thankful for the rain.  Kind of wierd that it's windy in your part of the world too.  Today the Santa Ana's were kicking up and that's not a good sign around here.  Santa Ana winds are hot winds and better known as fire winds.  That's when we pray for rain.

Donne- I wonder if they were down in San Diego too.  My mother in law said with all the rain they got earlier in the season there is PLENTY of fuel for fires this season.  As much as I don't like the smoke when they are happening... I'm very thankful they do controlled burns in our forests to keep the fire fuel down in the dry season.

Tammy, we get that sometimes here and oh I just can't stand it. Glad it rained, glad you got the plants done, funny about the money tree, LOL, and of course I smiled about your hubby.

Your posts always make me feel good, well, ok, sometimes a few made me shed a tear or two, but I always feel good!!!!

I've had it for years Andrea and I'm taking it as a good sign it's trying to grow... it hasn't done much the past three years.  When we moved into the new office it didn't adapt to the change very well.

Sheldon- yes, thank goodness, because we were having to chew our air before we could breathe it.  And yes, I look less like Smurfette and more like... Marge Simpson

There was a story in the paper last Sunday about preparing for what is expected to be the worst pollen and allergy season in many years.

Shelton- happy to entertain

Jim- I never remember it this bad, but I did hear on our local news, that although intense it should also be shorter than normal.
