Pillow Fight in DC - Yes Really....

Only in DC would this happen.   It is all over Facebook and if you recall the Dupont Circle Snowball fight; it all started on FB and ended up on every National News station.

Here are the details from Facebook:

International Pillow Fight Day (Washington DC)

Type:
Date:
Saturday, April 3, 2010
Time:
2:00pm - 5:00pm
Location:
The National Mall / Dupont

Description

MAKE SURE TO READ AND FOLLOW ALL OF THE RULES FOR THE EVENT! We would like this event to continue and it will if everyone follows a few simple guidelines:

1) No Down Pillows:
Even though down is biodegradable, it makes a mess that is nearly impossible to clean up. Other cities have been fined in the past because of the mess and if that happens to DC, the event will no longer occur. Please don't be the person to spoil it for everyone else!

2) Don't Hit People With Cameras:
There will be a lot of fragile equipment out there. If someone has a camera - just avoid hitting them altogether. (unless they specifically ask you for a shot)

3) Hit lightly:
If you saw pictures of last year, there were toddlers out there as young as 1 year old! This is an event for everyone so don't hit to hurt participants, hit for fun.

4) Help Clean Up:
We will have trash bags out there to clean up the mess. Before we leave one area we will do a quick clean up job. Don't worry, it goes quickly with everyone helping!

The first pillow fight will break out @ 2pm somewhere on the WW2 side of the Washington Monument Lawn. Gather with your pillow hidden and act like you're just out there to enjoy the day. A couple of our group members will get into a fake yelling match to start the first fight - only join after you see them pull out pillows. After 15 minutes of pillow fighting, we'll move to DuPont Circle for more fights and events!

Last year over 400 people participated in DC's celebration of International Pillow Fight Day. This year we expect even more!

***TO THE OUT-OF-TOWNERS***
DC has one of the largest networks and tends to reach out to people well outside of DC. If you're too far away to make the trek to DC, you may want to check out http://www.pillowfightday.com/to see if there's a Pillow Fight closer to your town!!!
