8 Comments on Dunbarton: Bristow, VA's Only Active Adult Community
Terrific overview of this community. Well done!
Chris Ann:
What a fabulous write-up on the Dunbarton Active Adult Community. It is interesting that these are all single families and duplexes - no condos. It sounds like a wonderful place to live with all of the amenities. And, of course, tennis courts.
Hi Chris Ann, you did a great job about Dunbarton Adult Community and great photos! The only one we have here are condos. Nice to see these aren't. It's good they have a lot of amenities like a pool! :)
What I want to know is why do the developers insist on calling these communities "active adult communities?" It sort of reminds me of active infestation noted on pest reports, LOL. Is it active as compared to lethargic or dead? Why can't they call these developments "over 55 exclusive" or something like that?
Kirsten: When I'm 55 (since I'll hit that magic number before my husband) I am definitely looking into this community.
Claudette: I am personally a huge fan of the indoor pool. Being able to swim year round would really float my boat.
Jackie: The Active Adult golf course communities have condo buildings. Those are Heritage Hunt in Gainesville and Regency at Dominion Valley in Haymarket.
Elizabeth: I know what you mean about the term Active Adult. I guess it's to distinguish from retirement homes.
As baby boomers age these are becoming more and more popular
your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
I have a friend that lives in this community. She absolutely loves it. She's in one of those duplexes and it's a great house.
Charles: The one level living is done very well in these homes.
Anne: My Aunt has a duplex in Dunbarton too. Mom nearly moved here, but I think the condos at Heritage Hunt suit her much better.
