After trying everything possible to sell the house, I recommended  a Saint Joseph Statue a few months ago. I was worried and did not want to offend the seller, because religion and politics are two topics I stay away from. The seller agreed . Then I went looking for a statue and could not find them anywhere. They were on reorder at my association of realtors. As soon as they were available, I bought 2 and buried them at 2 listings. . I am glad to report that both the houses sold.

I wish I purchased more because I have a listing that is going to be withdrawn tomorrow. Seller has  decided not to sell.

I received a call from a previous client of mine recently asking me how to bury the statue. I was relieved to hear that it was for her daughter who lives in another state. ( I wish she had asked me for a referral when she listed )

I mailed her a copy of the information I received when I had purchased the statues. I have to follow up .

Hi Gita... interesting that I saw your post about the St.Joseph statues today. I just saw a story about this a few days ago on either ABC World News Tonight or maybe on CNN, mentioning how popular it has become.

I had a seller tell me about it and she purchased and buried...I am sad to say the house is still on the market. Maybe the next one.

Marti, Annie Thanks for reading the post and for taking the time to comment.

Marti, I missed the story on TV.

Annie, I am sorry the house did not sell. I am sure the next one will sell. I wish the statue would help us sell all our listings , we could then go on listing appointments with the statue and our sale signs .

Gita:

Check out your local catholic shop. They offer kits that explain the whole phenomenon. It is not a superstition but an act of faith. Thanks,   Fran

Fran, Thank you for the information. There used to be a shop , but it is no longer there. I agree it is an act of faith.

I was really confused about seeing these statues in our Realtor store at the association when I first got into real estate.  I've never used one, and doubt that I would unless a client specifically asked for it.  Call me a cynic.

Brian, it will not work if you don't have faith . I agree with Fran it is based on faith..

If your clients ask for it make sure they have faith.

Gita

I have used the statues many times, and only once it didn't work and its not because there weren't any offers. It was because the ladies daughter had a referral license hanging with a Realtor having never actually done a transaction herself she still knew everything, and they to didn't want a statue I had to place it when they were not home.

There is a prayer that goes along with the Statue and I make sure that when I place the statue the people agree to do the prayer with me when I bury the statue ann they also agree to dig it up and place it in a place of honor in there next home.

You can find them on the internet and can buy them there, I always go to a Catholic Book Store for mine.

Gary, Thank you for the info. I did not know that we have to say the prayer together. I have purchased it and given it to sellers to bury. Sometimes sellers have purchased it on their own and buried it.
