APRIL:
The month of April signals seasonal changes; sporting activities; fun in the sun in places elsewhere.
This month of April is the first full month of Spring;
...1st known as April Fool's Day
...always known as Opening Day, with all the necessities of the game
...TODAY--our Boys of Summer played the 1st game that counts;
...it was cold
...They all came and they all Showed Up to play
...Play they did; WIN they did. 5 -2
...15 known as Tax [deadline] Day
...are you READY
...sometimes known for Easter, & Passover celebrations
...both events have recently concluded.
...mainly known as spring Break, where most sensibilities are not packed for the trip.
...where sons develop new hobbies & loss of Brain power
...often the beginning of the end quarter of the school year
...where School Districts seriously consider Budgets for the upcoming fiscal year [2010-2011]
...where some contracts end & negotiations begin
...this year in Michigan, as in some other states, this budget planning is more difficult than in years past
...the districts find themselves locked into contracts with employees that are now bordering on untenable
...some are closing schools, laying off, or asking unionized employees to take early retirement or other
buy-out choices.
...where some, wisely, ask for parental & resident input.
Whatever you are experiencing within your own individual States may you:
...weather the storms to come
...participate where you are able
...stay tuned in to all that is being discussed / or proposed
...vote when you are called upon to do so
This will be a Spring [ April to June time-span ] to be remembered for years to come.
Play your part well
Plan to have no regrets for things left undone
Prepare and choose wisely for your family
When you may feel overwhelmed or under appreciated;
Reflect on these words from:
Ogden Nash
"Parents were invented to make children happy
by giving them something to ignore"
