25 Comments on The Hills Come Alive with Golden Yellow
You have tulips in bloom already, I am still waiting here in NV. But we have daffodils and they are lovely! Have a wonderful weekend Myrl!
Myrl - I love it Daffodil Hill ..... it has a fresh spring sound to it ..... judging from your pictures it must be amazing to see in full bloom
What a beautiful slide show
Hi Mryl, A wonderful photostory and Daffodil Hill certanly looks like a great place to take along the grandkids and have a picnick. The photo slide show is very special. Gee, I wonder how they came up with the name of this place. The flowers are just wonderful!
Daffodils are the very definition of Spring. The girls are cute...but I like the shot with the fence running along parrallel to/making up the near horizon.
Hi Myrl, How beautiful! I love your photos of Daffodil Hill; what a wonderful Spring Parade! It's too bad the snows came but I am certainly glad you made it up there before they closed.
Hi, Myrl!
I love spring with all the colors and new life it brings.
Have a great weekend!
Brigita
THANKS so much for this photo...it makes me wonder about life in California - did daffodils play in this spot a hunderd years ago...??....
Jean - I don't usually have a problem with pollen. But this season, I seem to be battling it continually!
June - You're very welcome!
Barbara - There is a very "fresh" scent to daffodils. They smell really "new."
John - That's it - they are a celebration of spring!
Melanie - So true about them coming back year after year - except for those that fall victim to gophers and moles:-)
Terrie - I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!
Kathy - It really is amazing to see. . .and transitory for only a very few weeks each year.
Jim - Thank you!
William - I'm totally clueless about how they came up with that name - LOL
Jim - They really are the definition of Spring!
Mary - This has been such a crazy year weather wise. I can't remember when snows ever stopped Daffodil Hill from staying open.
Brigita - The older I get, the more I love spring for its "new life" quality as you say.
JaneAnn - Daffodil Hill was began by homesteaders in the 1800s. But the tradition of continuing to plant and expand their numbers is still going on.
Can you believe it? I have never been to Daffodil Hill. But I have certainly heard of it. My husband has been yakking at me about going hiking, saying all I do is sell real estate 18 hours a day (the other 6 I sleep). I need to pencil in something in my planner and go away with him. Amador County has great hiking trails.
Myrl - wow those are beautiful photographs, and I love daffodils, they are such a pretty flower!
Elizabeth - Life is about balance! I have seen how hard you work, and worry that you do not seem to take a lot of time out to smell the roses! Spend time with your husband! Life shouldn't be about work only. . .Although, you truly seem to enjoy being in the thick of it with your career.
Sharon - Thank you for the compliment - I love those little yellow flowers too!
I love the name "Daffodil Hill". It looks like a beautiful spot!
Myrl, great photos! The daffodils are just beautiful, so are the kids!
As always your pictures are beautiful. Daffodil Hill looks like a wonderful place to visit.
Myrl,
Wow! You have captured all the beautiful flowers at their best at Daffodil Hill! I enjoyed the slide show. Thanks!
How I love Daffodil Hill! It's been years and years since I've been there -but it was one of my favorite places :) Thanks for bringing it to me, Myrl!
Debi
Myrl, you are right! The hills are alive with spring! You are lucky to share them with your granddaughters.
Hi Myrl...What a treat for you and your granddaughters. What a wonderful idea to take them to a place like Daffodil Hill. These photos will provide wonderful memories for them years from now.
Kate
Your granddaughters are adorable-and the flowers look good too! LOL
