Feng Shui New York City Brownstone Apartments

Manhattan New York is full of rich diverse history around every corner.  Laura and I had the pleasure having a feng Shui consultation in one of these spectacular Brownstone Apartments in New York City NY. These European styled apartments can also be found in New Jersey, Boston MA and Brooklyn NY.   As a young child I remember warm summer nights sitting on my grandmothers Queens NY Brownstone stoup talking and laughing with friends and family.

Many of the New York City Brownstones where used in movie scenes such as "An Affair to Remember , "Sex and The City," Carrie Bradshaw's apartment and the "Bill Cosby Show." Next time your in Manhattan NY try not to briskly walk past these magnificent and very historical buildings.

We used to live in one of those Brownstones when I was younger and they are just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. They have such character.

What a beautiful building.  Anytime I am in the city I love looking at these older buildings.  I could ride around and do it for hours!

hi Carole and Laura,

Such a beautiful building...reminds me of the rowhouses in Ireland. They're making many reproduction townhouses here in Oakville that look very similar to these old brownstones...

Hi Carol...My grandparents lived in a brownstone apartment in Brooklyn but it did not look quite like this beauty.  We'd sit out on the front steps too and play in the street.  Different vendors would come with their wagons and horses selling us wonderful produce.

These lovely brownstones, pictured above, must be stunning inside.

Carole, That beautiful townhouse looks like a limestone mansion. Notice the base. The one next door is a brownstone notice the brown sandstone. The term brownstone has become generic but brownstones were mostly rowhouses made from brown sandstone. The townhouses were attached mansions built with more expensive limestone or marble.

I absolutely LOVE this type of architecture. What a treat to be able to meet a client who owns one and helping to make the inside as harmonious as the outside!

It really is a remarkable looking brownstone, Carole!  We don't have many, if any, brownstones in Sacramento.  I think it is the wonderful thing about east coast architecture, that is so charming to those of us in the west!

Carole - I love the old brownstones they certainly are much more attractive than many of the appartment buildings built in later years
