Learn from me, I had a hard time disciplining myself when I first joined real estate back in 2006!  I had to seek outside sources to help me stay on track.  If you are new you will soon learn that even if you don't technically have a "Boss" hanging over your head then you will need to exercise DISCIPLINE.... that's right let me REPEAT it... Yes... DISCIPLINE.... okay I'm not talking about PUNISHMENT of course (Although it might feel like punishment) because let's face it you joined real estate for Flexibility... only to discover you need DISCIPLINE... yes the key is to stay focused on weekly, daily, and monthly goals.  I developed a chart to keep me on track with various activity.  I soon realized that early in my career I found that OFFICE CHIT - CHAT was my #1 problem!!  Yikes!  Well don't get caught up in too much office CHIT-CHAT!

Discipline Is Hard at first for those who are not well "Disciplined people" so develop a checklist of just do it every day and once you develop a routine for 18 weeks.... it becomes a HABIT!   So then you will be DISCIPLINED!  You will find that you will work a faster tempo and enjoy the rewards of getting things done Quickly!

That's the way to go! So remember Discipline ... it's not punishment, it's just getting things done!

Being disciplined leads you to what you want and that is..... SUCCESS!

This is really great that you made this observation so early in your career, Tom.

I know people who are ready to retire without having learned this.  (Frankly, I'm irritated that they got this far without HAVING to learn this lesson.)
